Panhandle Helicopter is a family owned business. Panhandle Helicopters became available for sale in the late summer of 2008 and was purchased by the partnership of the Hott family. It is our goal to provide our customers with the best service possible. Our primary focus is the safety and enjoyment of everyone. If you aren’t having fun, we aren’t doing our job.
I have always had a love of flying. I started flying fixed wing back in 1979 but life took me in a different direction. While stationed in Panama City as a diving instructor for the U.S. Navy I decided to take up flying again, this time helicopters. I received my commercial helicopter license in 2006 and as my retirement from the Navy was coming near, this business became available. I can’t imagine doing anything else right now. I’ve got the best job on the beach.
Since I was a kid, I’ve always had my head in the clouds. I knew I had a passion for helicopters when I pushed the folks van out of the driveway to go down to the local hospital to watch huey’s land. I was in trouble with the folks when I got back, due to I was too young to have my drivers license:) I worked for my brother for 18 years as a Car Salesman in Colorado Springs before chasing my dream. I started flying in 2004 in Arizona, and then moved back to my home state of Colorado where I finished my Commercial, and Certified Flight Instructor Ratings. I moved to Melbourne, FL to be a Flight Instructor in 2007 and moved to the panhandle of Florida in early 2009 and have been flying with my friends here ever since. I enjoy sharing the helicopter experience with all of my passengers along the “Worlds Most Beautiful Beaches”. I’m a pretty lucky guy:)
